  1. Included with this file are 149 backgrounds for use in web
  2. page backgrounds. I found these files doing a search via
  3. Infoseek at a wide variety of different sites across the 
  4. web. They were specifically chosen at sites where either
  5. the webmaster encouraged copying, or didn't care if they
  6. were copied, and at sites where the webmaster could not 
  7. recall where he/she got them from.  Therefore, as I don't
  8. know whether any of these backgrounds are copyrighted by
  9. their creators or not - please confine your use of them to
  10. non-commercial purposes (i.e. use them in your web pages,
  11. but don't try to sell them or copyright them as your own);
  12. any violation of this could result in a lawsuit - and if
  13. so, that is between you and the artist who created the
  14. graphic, I won't get involved in the middle of it. And a
  15. note here, please unzip the backgrounds to an empty dir &
  16. check the filenames before placing them in any directory
  17. which may contain files of the same name to avoid copying
  18. over files already on your hard disk.
